What a delivery driver does
Delivery drivers move products from your location to customers using cars, cargo vans or light trucks. They might deliver parts to repair shops, medical supplies to clinics, food to restaurants or orders to homes. A typical day includes loading the vehicle, planning a route, completing several stops, collecting signatures or payment, handling returns and keeping the vehicle clean and in good condition. Most of these roles need an Ontario Class G licence rather than a commercial class.
Because delivery drivers work alone and represent your brand at the door, character matters as much as driving skill. Finch checks licence status, reviews a driver's abstract and asks about the routes, vehicles and customer situations each candidate has handled. We look for people who are organized, communicate well with dispatch and stay calm in traffic. You get a shortlist of suitable drivers you can trust with your vehicles and your customers.
