Skilled trades & industrial recruitmentProperty and facilities recruitment in Toronto and the GTA

Finch recruits property managers, superintendents, maintenance technicians, facilities coordinators and janitorial staff for owners and managers across Toronto and the GTA.

Buildings run on the people who look after them. A good superintendent keeps residents satisfied, a capable maintenance technician prevents small problems from becoming expensive repairs, and an experienced property manager protects the value of the asset. Finch Employment recruits permanent property and facilities staff for residential landlords, condominium corporations, commercial owners and institutions across Toronto, York, Peel, Durham and Halton, from front-line janitorial roles to management.

These roles combine technical skill, customer service and trust, since your hire will have keys to the building and contact with tenants, residents or occupants. On a retainer agreed per position, we advertise, source and screen, checking relevant experience and credentials such as CMRAO licensing for condominium managers or trade certificates for maintenance staff. You receive a shortlist of suitable candidates, we arrange interviews, and we follow up after the start date.

Why property and facilities hires need careful screening

Your hire will have access to suites, mechanical rooms and security systems, so trustworthiness and references matter as much as skill.

Maintenance roles range from basic repairs to regulated trade work, and confusing the two creates safety and liability risks for your building.

Condominium management requires a CMRAO licence in Ontario, so a manager from rental or commercial buildings may not be eligible right away.

Residents and tenants expect quick, courteous responses, and a hire with poor communication skills can generate complaints and turnover.

How we screen property & facilities candidates

  • Relevant building types and portfolio experience
  • Licences and certificates, such as CMRAO or trade certificates, where they apply
  • Customer service with tenants, residents and occupants
  • Trustworthiness, confirmed through references
  • Technical skills, systems knowledge and on-call availability

Property & facilities recruitment: questions employers ask

Do property managers need a licence in Ontario?

Condominium managers must be licensed by the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO). Managers of rental apartments or commercial buildings generally do not need that licence, though professional designations can be an asset. We confirm licence status for condominium roles during screening, and you should seek legal advice on any specific compliance questions.

Can you recruit live-in superintendents?

Yes. Many residential buildings offer a suite as part of a superintendent's package, and the arrangement needs to be clear from the start. We discuss the suite, hours, on-call expectations and duties with you in the consultation and with candidates before shortlisting them. Because a live-in arrangement involves housing, get advice on how it should be documented.

What property and facilities roles do you recruit?

We recruit building maintenance technicians, building superintendents, property managers, facilities coordinators and janitors. Employers we work with include residential landlords, condominium corporations and management firms, commercial and industrial property owners, schools, clinics and other institutions. If your role blends duties, such as a superintendent who also handles leasing, we search for that combination.
