What a medical specialist does
Medical specialists diagnose and manage conditions that need focused expertise, usually seeing patients on referral from family physicians and other providers. Depending on the specialty, the work can include consultations, procedures, diagnostic testing and long-term management of complex conditions. For a clinic, adding a specialist can shorten waits for patients, strengthen relationships with referring physicians and create a more complete service under one roof.
Specialist recruitment is narrow by nature. The pool of candidates in a given specialty is small, and each has preferences about procedures, hospital affiliation, clinic days and research or teaching time. Finch starts by understanding your referral base, the space and equipment you can offer and what a typical week would look like. That lets us approach specialists with a clear, accurate picture of the opportunity you are offering.
